Reigning Paralympic champion Dharambir Nain won a silver in the men’s Club Throw F51, and Atul Kaushik took home a bronze in the men’s Discus Throw F57. This helped boost India’s medal count on Day 6 in New Delhi.

New Delhi, October 2, 2025. On the sixth day of the World Para Athletics Championships in New Delhi, India’s para-athletics team added two more medals to their total. Dharambir Nain secured silver in the men’s Club Throw F51, while Atul Kaushik earned bronze in the men’s Discus Throw F57.

Dharambir Nain Takes Silver in Club Throw F51
Dharambir entered the competition as the reigning Paralympic champion in this category. He had a throw of 29.71 m that placed him second. The gold medal went to Aleksandar Radisic of Serbia with 30.36 m, and Uladzislau Hryb, competing as a Neutral Paralympic Athlete, won bronze with 28.70 m.

Dharambir improved from his bronze finish at last year’s World Championships, solidifying his position among the best in F51 club throw. His personal best is 34.92 m, achieved during the 2024 Paralympics.

India’s success in the F51 club-throw discipline owes much to coach Amit Saroha. He has guided athletes like Dharambir and Pranav Soorma and has been instrumental in popularizing this event in India.

Atul Kaushik Secures Bronze in Discus Throw F57
In the men’s Discus Throw F57, Atul Kaushik put in a strong performance to win bronze. Details about his throw distance are not widely available yet, but competition updates confirmed his achievement.

Kaushik, born in 1996, competes in the F57 category for para discus. He has previously won medals in national and para grand prix events. His bronze adds to his growing achievements on the world stage.

India’s Overall Performance & What to Watch
As of October 2, India had already earned several medals, and the performances of Dharambir and Atul added to the momentum. The host advantage and strength in throw events continue to be beneficial for India’s para athletics team.

Upcoming events in the Championships may help boost India’s medal count even further. Athletes like Sumit Antil (javelin F64) remain strong medal contenders.

Keeping an eye on final results, official distances, and possible records will be important as the competition moves into its later stages.
